Chicken Diva Art

Last week Mrs A read us a book called, "Whitney and Britney: Chicken Divas'. It was about 2 girl chickens who liked to perform as singers and dancers. It was funny. We made pictures of them using pastels and then we got to decorate them with bling.  The best part was I could draw a rooster instead of a chicken. I wanted my rooster to look like a real rooster so I only put a necklace on it.

koru Art

We made koru art with Whaea Rose.  We made our koru using foam and stamping ink onto paper.
My koru represents all of the people who went to war for New Zealand.
I really like the colours and shapes in my koru art.

Alien

This week we learnt how to use google sheets to create a mine craft style character. WE created an Alien. Here is mine.

STEAM

Yesterday I created a scorpion from some screws, bolts, washers and a piece of wood. I used a hot glue gun to put it together.

Self Portrait Art

We have been learning how to sketch our facial features. We needed to put them in the right place on our face. For our background we typed our full name and learned to copy and paste down the page.

I like my eyes.

Art Term 4

This term we have completed two pieces of art.

One was inspired by an artist named Kadinsky who used coloured circles in his work. We looked at the contrast between warm and cool colours and the black and white of the buildings.

Our second piece was using the Maori words we have learnt and using these to create a visual picture. The words become the shape of the picture.

One thing I did well was the background like Kadinsky.

One thing I could improve on was the building because it was a bit muddled up.

Art - Kauri

1. First are dyed paper 2. We finger painted a trunk 3. We done the top of the tree using green painted paper. 4. We wrote slogans. 5. We glued it all on. 

Koru Weaving Term 2

Art

We have been working on using different art techniques to draw our faces. We have used sketching pencils to sketch our faces, making sure we made our facial features an accurate shape, size and putting them in the correct places.

We learnt about Picasso’s style and made our own funky Picasso portraits

Hot Air Balloon Art

For art we created Hot Air Balloons. We used pastel for the background. We used dye and black pva glue for the balloon. We weaved a basket. My favourite part was doing the dying of the balloon.

Collaborative bird

We made some collaborative bird wings. We each made feathers to put together to make the wings.
1. We made chalk patterns on the feathers.
2. We used white crayon over the chalk.
3. We used dye to colour the feathers, we chose complimentary colours.

We used marbling to create our background. Then we made patterns using sharpie on our rabbits. We added some whiskers and glasses. Here is my Easter Bunny.
